Catchback is a GPS-powered treasure hunt that turns everyday exploration into something meaningful. Participants solve cryptic clues, walk to real Sydney locations, capture a mascot via GPS, and earn entries into a prize draw — while unlocking a charitable donation for every clue they crack.

The Sydney Beta Hunt is operated by Catchback Labs, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. We are currently in a pre-incorporation beta testing phase. References to "Catchback," "we," "us," or "our" in these Terms refer to Catchback Labs and its founders.

By accessing the Catchback app, enabling location services, selecting a clue, or submitting the post-capture questionnaire, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not participate.

These Terms apply to all participants in the Catchback Sydney Beta Hunt, regardless of how they accessed the app (direct link, social media, word of mouth, or otherwise).

To participate in the Catchback Sydney Beta Hunt:

• You must be located in Sydney, Australia at the time of participation
• You must be 18 years of age or older, or participating with the consent of a parent or legal guardian
• You must have access to a smartphone with GPS capability and an active internet connection
• You must provide a valid WhatsApp number to be eligible for the prize draw

Employees and immediate family members of Catchback Labs founders are not eligible to win the prize draw, but may participate for testing purposes.

The Catchback Beta Hunt operates as follows:

• Clue selection: Participants choose from a list of cryptic clues, each pointing to a real Sydney landmark. Clues are sorted by distance from the participant's current location.
• GPS capture: Participants must physically travel to the landmark. The app uses GPS to verify physical presence within the capture zone. Captures cannot be made remotely or via VPN location spoofing.
• Code generation: On successful GPS capture, a unique code is generated and displayed. This code is submitted as part of the questionnaire.
• Questionnaire: Participants complete a short 5-question feedback survey after each capture. Completion of the questionnaire is required to confirm a valid draw entry.

Each successfully completed capture and questionnaire constitutes one entry into the prize draw. Participants may complete multiple hunts to earn additional entries, provided each hunt is at a different landmark.

The Sydney Beta Hunt prize draw operates as follows:

• Prize: One (1) Uber Eats gift voucher to the value of AUD $50, delivered via WhatsApp
• Draw date: Sunday at midnight (AEDT) at the close of the campaign period
• Winner selection: One winner is selected at random from all valid entries received before the draw closes
• Notification: The winner will be contacted via the WhatsApp number provided at the time of entry within 48 hours of the draw
• Unclaimed prizes: If the winner does not respond within 5 days of notification, the prize may be redrawn or forfeited at Catchback's discretion

The prize is not transferable, not redeemable for cash, and cannot be exchanged for an alternative prize. Catchback reserves the right to verify the validity of entries before announcing a winner. Any entry that cannot be verified as legitimate (e.g. GPS data inconsistent with physical presence) will be disqualified.

Catchback reserves the right to extend, shorten, or cancel the draw period at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.

For each valid clue cracked and questionnaire completed during the beta test, Catchback will make a charitable contribution of AUD $1 on behalf of participants collectively. Donations are pooled and made at the end of the campaign period.

The charitable cause supported during the beta period is at Catchback's discretion and will be communicated to participants via the app. Catchback intends to support causes focused on children's health and community wellbeing.

• Participants do not make personal financial contributions — the donation is funded entirely by Catchback Labs
• The charitable contribution is symbolic during the beta period and does not create any contractual obligation between Catchback and any specific charity
• Catchback is not yet formally incorporated and the charitable donation mechanism will be formalised upon incorporation

By participating in the Catchback Beta Hunt, you consent to the collection and use of the following information:

• GPS location data: Used solely to verify physical presence at a landmark during capture. Location data is not stored beyond the capture event.
• WhatsApp number: Collected to contact prize draw winners. Not used for unsolicited marketing. You may opt out of further contact at any time by messaging us directly.
• Questionnaire responses: Collected anonymously for product research purposes. Responses are stored in a Google Form / Google Sheet accessible only to Catchback Labs founders.
• Capture metadata: Including capture distance, time, and landmark name, stored for research and fraud prevention purposes.

We handle all personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. We do not sell, share, or disclose your information to third parties except as required by law.

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at the address in Section 12.

All content associated with the Catchback Beta Hunt — including the app design, mascot characters, clue text, branding, and methodology — is owned by or licensed to Catchback Labs.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Catchback content without our express written permission. Screenshots of captures shared on personal social media are permitted and encouraged, provided they are not used for commercial purposes.

The Catchback app is provided "as is" for beta testing purposes. We make no warranties regarding:

• The accuracy or reliability of GPS capture in all locations and conditions
• Uninterrupted availability of the app during the campaign period
• The accuracy of distance calculations or clue content

Participant safety: You participate at your own risk. Catchback accepts no responsibility for any injury, accident, or loss incurred while physically travelling to or from a landmark location. Always be aware of your surroundings and follow applicable road and pedestrian safety rules.

To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, Catchback's total liability for any claim arising from participation is limited to AUD $50. This does not affect any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

We may update these Terms during the beta period. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued participation after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

For material changes affecting draw eligibility or prize conditions, we will make reasonable efforts to notify participants via the app or WhatsApp.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your participation in the Beta Hunt will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
